American Depository Receipts (ADR) or Global Depository Receipts (GDR) are certificates issued by a depository bank that represents a specified number of shares in a foreign company. ADRs listed on the SGX gives investors access to these instruments during Asian trading hours. GDRs listed on SGX allow a foreign company whose shares are already listed in its home country to raise funds on the SGX.

If you wish to trade in the Singapore securities market, you’ll also need to open a Central Depository (CDP) account. If you do not own a CDP account, you may open one here before applying for a DBS Vickers Online Trading Account.
